This beginners sailing taster course from our amazing location in Barcelona near Bareloneta just past the W Hotel is a great way to try sailing whilst gaining the RYA certificate which then leads onto the RYA Competent Crew. Our yacht is perfectly suited with great accommodation onboard, a modern roomy yacht which is stable but with great performance. Our team of instructors are super friendly with great patience and enthusiasm for sailing. From Barcelona we have great sailing conditions and some lovely local ports to visit
RYA Start Yachting Weekend Course
The Sailing Course for beginners is perfect to try sailing and enjoy a weekend on the water. Runs Friday evening 1730 till 2130, Saturday and Sunday 0930 till 1730. Lunches provided
ABOUT THE COURSE
- Boat Preparation and Safety Equipment
- Sailing skills, trimming sails to the wind
- Boat handling in the Marina
- Reefing Sails for stronger winds
- Person over board recovery and prevention
- Plan daily trips to other locations
- Plenty of helming to the wind and Sails
- Team work to get the best from the Yacht
What next?
The Start Yachting is then complimented by the RYA Competent Crew, followed on by the RYA Dayskipper
What is included?
You spend the day onboard with lunch included, you will be given an RYA certificate on completion of the course
Sleeping onboard?
The weekends you can sleep onboard, this is optional. There is 3 x double cabins which if a couple you can share or pay extra for single occupancy. There is also 2 x shower/toilets(heads) plus Gallery for cooking
- If sleeping onboard we supply linen and Pillows
- Dinner money, there are plenty of local places to get a bite in the evenings
- Large bag with extra layers, there is storage on the boat
- Non slip or trainer style shoe
- Waterproofs we can supply
- Sun block and hat for those sunny days
- Showers available in the Marinas, bring a towel
