Prior Knowledge and Experience required

You should already have some boating experience, if you have no experience we recommend completing our Zero to Dayskipper package, which includes the RYA Powerboat Level 2 and Dayskipper theory(completed online or in the classroom

International Certificate Of Competence(ICC)

When boating abroad this is quite useful, it is an additional application which is free to RYA Members or costs around £47, you gain this with your Dayskipper certificate. Please note some EU citizens cannot get the ICC, this is clearly explained on the application form.

Course includes Motor Yacht, fuel, mooring fees and lunches onboard. Excludes accommodation onboard, evening meals.

What is included?

We provide a suitable Motor boat, this is normally around 11 metres with a flybridge, the instructor give give you plenty of hands inexperience in all types of boat handling

is the certificate for tidal too?

The course is in non tidal waters but the RYA Dayskipper is for both, so it is very important your knowledge of tidal waters is good and you practice this with your Dayskipper theory course.

					  My husband and I bought a boat this summer, and although we had used it a few times, we were grateful for the tuition and confidence that our trainer, Seb,... read more was able to give us. 

Because we were offered the flexibility of completing our Level 2 Powerboat on our own boat, we were able to ask boat (and berth) specific questions and really get a feel of what we were able to achieve in our own craft.

Seb was friendly, informative, and an excellent teacher. He pitched the course at our level, and was happy to answer any and all of our questions. 

We are currently looking at further training, and will not hesitate to come straight to Torquay Watersports.
