Three day Instructor course so you can deliver Personal Watercraft Proficiency and Safety Courses for Super Yachts

The RYA Personal Watercraft Instructor course mainly used for Super Yacht deck crew to deliver the onboard safety course for guests or other crew or the proficiency course at RYA Centres

You will go through all aspects from teaching techniques, practical demos, group control and safety, plus key points of the syllabus

Course includes use of a Jet Ski which is based in Port Forum. Fuel, certificate and handbooks are all included.

You must have experience and the RYA PW Proficiency before joining this course

Safety equipment onboard
Departure checks and basic care
Weather and tides
Charts, navigation and understanding your local area
Berthing in marinas, mooring on buoys and close quarter handling
High speed manoeuvres and handling skills
Person over board recovery and capsize recovery
Planning a trip and using electronic navigation
Collision regulations
Towing

How long is the Instructor licence valid?

Your licence will be registered with the RYA so there is always a record, you need to renew every 5 years and give evidence that you have been teaching to renew it

Do I need the PW Proficiency as I have lots of experience already

Yes, as you will be then able to teach the PW Proficiency you need to of completed the course yourself too

Passport Photo for the certificate
Lunch money or packed lunch, there are plenty of local places to get a bite
Swimming costume or a wetsuit if you have one
Sunglasses with retainers can be useful against spray
Sun block on those sunny days

					  Everything was perfect for our 3 hour sail. Our skipper, Ricardo, and first mate, Federica, were excellent and provided five star service. Great way to see Barcelona from a different perspective.
