Taking the Yachtmaster Offshore or Coastal Exams
The exam can be very stressful and having good preparation with an expert instructor will help you lots to get through the exam. Whilst the examiner is independent we know the standards required and you will practice your Yachtmaster theory knowledge, skippering skills like safety briefings and crew management, boat handling skills with some night navigation are all practiced during the preparation. .
Prior Knowledge and Experience required
Los alumnos que se presenten al examen de capitán de yate deben estar en posesión de un certificado de operador de VHF/SRC y un certificado de primeros auxilios válido, y tener las millas y la experiencia de patrón pertinentes, incluido el pilotaje nocturno. El tiempo de mar mínimo requerido como guía para Costa es de 20 días, 2 días como patrón, 400 millas, 12 horas nocturnas. Para Offshore es de 50 días, 5 días como patrón, 2500 millas, 12 horas nocturnas. Todo el tiempo de mar calificado debe ser dentro de los 10 años anteriores al examen. Se recomienda encarecidamente completar la teoría de Yachtmaster también.
Commercial Endorsement
Once successfully passed, the CoC can then be commercially endorsed with Sea Survival, PPR and a ENG1 Medical
Course includes use of our training boats which is based in Marina Velal, Fuel and food onboard.
The RYA exam fee is excluded, the exam is normally 24 hours per 2 candidates. You will be required to pay a contribution of €200 towards the examiners travel and expenses
