Power boating offers a great way to get out on the water, whether you plan to go wakeboarding and looking for day trips to great locations to anchor and go for a swim it gives you great opportunities.
Whether you are a beginner or someone with experience looking to gain a certificate the Powerboat Level 2 is the main license for day boat power boating. From a beginner you can complete the 2 day practical course to give you the skills and knowledge to day boat in familiar waters, so where you be be leaving and returning to the same port in favourable whether which fits with most boaters requirements. The Course is very practical with only a maximum of 3 persons on the course to make sure you get loads of time on the helm practicing parking, high speed, anchoring and some basic navigation, weather and safety situations plus the equipment to carry onboard and regular checks to complete. With this course you can also gain the ICC for Power boats under 10 metres
Bigger Boats – International Certificate of Competence over 10 metres
This is the main aim for most people, if you own a boat or looking to charter or rent boats then this course gives you all the confidence and knowledge you need to be a skipper. Before gong on our 4 day training course you will need some more theory knowledge and we recommend complete the RYA Dayskipper theory to cover all the navigation, tides and much more
The course is completed on a Motor Yacht over 10 metres with accommodation onboard, exactly the type of boat you would be looking to charter or own. With a maximum of 4 persons onboard the course is very practical and hands on with plenty of practice parking, tight space turning, out to sea high speed, person over board recovery, anchoring and all the skills required to be a skipper.
Jet skis as they are more commonly known now come in all sorts of sizes making them much more like boats and extending the range and use from just a quick blast. People now use them to go fishing, tows for wakeboarding and a small boat to complete trips up the coast with friends and family taking 4 persons. Our Personal watercraft license is a one day course covering the basics of safety onboard, launching, weather, tides and then practical hands on training on the water and driving techniques and local rules and regulation and importantly the collision regulations. You can gain the ICC with this certificate.
The Yachtmaster is an exam with an authorised MCA/RYA examiner, often stressful but with huge reward that brings massive opportunities in the boating worlds whether to become a commercial skipper or work up the ranks on the Super Yachts.
