he ICC is an extremely useful licence to drive boats in European Waters and is preferred than the normal RYA certificates in some countries. There is two routes to the ICC, one is to gain an equivalent RYA qualification, which for boats over 10 metres would be the RYA Dayskipper theory and practical course. Option two is if you do not need the RYA qualification you can complete the ICC directly, this is less intensive as it does not cover so much of the theory for tidal navigation which makes it ideal if your boat If you have all the required experience you can also go direct and complete a day long test, or we can offer training through all the elements of the test and over 4 days complete the training and test. We recommend you to complete the RYA Essential Navigation course prior to the practical which can be completed online, we can then concentrate more on the practical skills and putting the naviagtion theory in to real time practice with planning and executing a trip. We use an ideal training boat, although maybe a little too fast! 12 metres long with twin inboard diesels giving you all the skills that you can transfer onto your own boat or to a charter boat. The training will be very practical and informative covering everything from safety equipment and there use onboard, parking and slow speed handling in confined spaces, high speed and man over board, anchoring and mooring boys as well as small trips to over ports too practice your navigation and pilotage.ing area is in the Mediterranean waters.
