This RYA Dayskipper combined course from Barcelona includes RYA Day Skipper Theory and RYA Day Skipper Practical. This is a consecutive 9 day course. The first 2 days will cover Day Skipper Theory, the next 5 days will cover Day Skipper Practical and the final 2 days will cover Day Skipper Theory.


Run from our office in the beautiful Port Vell in the centre of Barcelona, this course is a comprehensive introduction to cruising for inexperienced skippers and is essential preparation for our RYA Day Skipper practical course. The RYA Dayskipper theory course covers:

On this RYA Day Skipper Practical Course you will gain further experience through planning and completing passages, including a night sail. You will also practice lots of close quarter handling skills and mooring in a range of marinas, offering more interesting ways to tie up for the night! The Course: Our boats are moored in Port Vell which is located in the heart of Barcelona and where this vibrant city meets the sea. Port Vell is the perfect place to start your RYA Dayskipper Course. On this RYA Dayskipper course you will either head south along the Costa Dorada to stunning ports such as Sitges or Tarragona or north to the rugged Costa Brava with its secluded beaches, coves and hidden villages such as Tossa de Mar and Cadaqués. During this course you will be mooring up each night in different ports or harbours to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, superb apres sailing and delicious cuisine that Spain has to offer. Course Objective: You will gain your RYA Day Skipper Certificate and International Certificate of Competence for Sail & Power (upto 10m). You will be licensed to skipper your own boat and charter a boat both in the UK or abroad.
